Refunds & Cancellations

This policy applies to professional engagements for treasury control reviews and related examinations described on this Site. It does not cover products, software subscriptions, or physical goods — we do not sell those.

Eligibility

Refunds relate to fees and deposits paid under a signed engagement letter. Website browsing is free. Indicative prices on the Site are not invoices.

Engagement deposit

A 30% deposit is ordinarily required to reserve a fieldwork window. The deposit is credited toward the total fixed fee.

Cancellation by you

• More than 14 days before the agreed fieldwork start: deposit refunded in full, less any non-recoverable third-party costs we have already incurred with your written approval (rare for Hong Kong on-site work).
• 7 to 14 days before start: 50% of the deposit may be retained for reserved analyst time.
• Fewer than 7 days before start, or after fieldwork has begun: deposit is non-refundable. Fees for work already performed (document review, interviews completed) remain payable on a reasonable-effort basis as set out in the engagement letter.

Cancellation by us

If we must cancel for reasons within our control (for example illness covering the whole team with no substitute), you may choose a full deposit refund or a rescheduled window at no extra charge.

Rescheduling

One reschedule with at least 7 days’ notice is usually accommodated without penalty, subject to diary availability. Short-notice reschedules may be treated as cancellations under the tiers above.

Partial refunds

If scope is reduced by mutual written agreement after kickoff, we may issue a partial credit for unused phases (for example dropping a secondary entity before fieldwork). Work already completed is charged.

Non-refundable items

• Time already spent on evidence review, interviews, and drafting
• Third-party costs approved by you in writing
• Deposits forfeited under the short-notice rules above

No-shows

If key client contacts are unavailable on agreed fieldwork days without timely notice, that day may be billed as performed and a new date scheduled at additional fee if the overall timeline expands.

Work already started

Once we have begun reviewing your documents or conducting interviews, fees reflect progress. You remain entitled to work product completed and paid for as of the termination date, subject to confidentiality terms in the engagement letter.

Processing time and method

Approved refunds are processed within 14 business days to the original payment method (typically bank transfer in HKD). We will confirm the amount in writing before transfer.

Exceptions

Statutory rights under Hong Kong law that cannot be waived remain unaffected. Engagement letters may set stricter or more specific commercial terms for a particular review; where they conflict with this page on fees and cancellation, the signed letter prevails.
